Contamination in U.S. Drinking Water

Perfluorinated chemicals (PFCs) have been used in hundreds of products, including fire-fighting foams designed for U.S. military fire or crash training exercises. This project maps water contamination across the U.S., as monitored by the Environmental Protection Agency, alongside military crash training sites.

Created for The Intercept The Intercept, this map was made in collaboration with Sharon Lerner, Philipp Hubert, Anna Flagg, John Thomason, & Tom Conroy.
